Hi There, and welcome to the Buu Tournament Center!
The Current Tournament Formats we allow at the moment are:
1v1 on SC Dream or FMP Space
2v2 on SC Dream or FMP Space
3v3 Teams on SC Dream or FMP Space
4v4 Teams on SC Dream or FMP Space
1v1 or 2v2 on any Ladder Map
Snipers UMS Tournaments
Any Random UMS Map.
Op XBuuX is the place to host tournaments! We have an easy to use system that any host can follow, and a moderator here on the forum will record the winners of the tournament on a permanent high scores sheet.
This is a great place for clans to battle each other so it's kept on an official record.
Do you want to host your own tournament? Just follow the steps below. You can run a tournament any way you like, but the following steps will help even someone who never hosted before to do it efficiently and have fun at the same time.
We allow 1 tournament in the ops per hour.
1: Check the 3 tournament folders
Located here: opxbuux.proboards24.com/index.cgi?board=Tournament
or ask around in the op, to make sure that you are not hosting one at the same time as anybody else.
2: Open the folder for the style of tournament you want to host. Make a post that includes the date, and the time the tournament shall begin. You should make the post a half hour before the tournament is scheduled.
3: You may now make announcements in Op XBuuX that you are hosting a tournament. Get people from wherever you can, and have them sign up with you.
4: Post all of the names of the people who enter the tournament. Wait until the time the tournament is set to begin.
5: Randomly choose pairings for all the the people. Use any method you want. Announce pairings and tell everyone that they may begin.
6: After you announce pairings, there is a 15 minute window for extra people to join the tournament. You of course cannot have an odd number of people, so if 3 people join a 1v1 tournament then person #3 can't enter and skip to the second round. If after 15 minutes, an opponent of any of the listed pairings does not show up. The person who was supposed to face him gets a BYE and automatically advances to the next round. If there happens to be a person #3 available, then match them against eachother.
7: If someone finishes a round they should tell you who won. If there is a dispute have someone you trust observe the replay to come to a decision. If someone disconects within the first 2 minutes of the game, even if they half lost to a rush they must redo the match. If you cannot come to a decision, the first person to have complained wins the argument.
8: Record all victories in the main post for your tournament. Try to keep a good record of the tournament for people to look back on in the future. Set it up however you want, be creative if you want to.
9: Once you come to a final match. Record the stats of the two people, and ask them if they have an op they frequent. Include this information on the main post. The person hosting the tournament is ALWAYS allowed to observe the final game!!! But no other observers are allowed. Watch and enjoy.
10: Congratulations, you have hosted your first tournament in Op XBuuX! Record who won and who came in second place in the main post, and a moderator will come along and add the point scorings to the Tournament Standings! People who host a tournament get 1 point on the Host Standings.
First place awards 3 points and Second place awards 1 point.
All points are recorded in Tournament Standings.
Good Gaming!
