LMAO i can't believe this thread is still here. Shouldn't it have been locked awhile ago? I mean, neither Dracona, nor his successor (me) is running the C.M. anymore. I mean, is anyone running the poor bitch right now?? I'm not trying to be offensive, I'm just curious.

After I resigned as Leader of the military back in July of 2007, no new leader has been appointed. Greg welcomed people to volunteer for the job, but no one ever applied.
Anyway, if you're thinking of becoming the new leader, I would suggest making a new thread saying you're the leader, and send Greg a Personal Message asking him to make you the Moderator. That's it. Clan Buu isn't really picky about who's in power.

Interesting approach to the subject... As Wolf knows a clan is only as strong as its members. Our member base is a spot low at this time. All clans require a large member count. Even more important is steady dependable members. These are the ones who rank higher, run the branches, and reap the rewards a clan has to offer faster.

Taking a step back and looking at the BNet clans from a different perspective, you should notice that despite the fact that "ConFed" is a retarded and noobish clan, they have a crapload of members. (As UNC and I can testify since we both been there) We must admit that while Clan Buu may have better gamers, it does not have many members...
Something I did notice while I was there, however, is that most of the ConFed members are actually active on both BNet and the website. Whereas Clan Buu's members just play melee all the time and are not very active in the structure set up by this website.
Makes you wonder why ConFed and they other clans like it, as pathetic as they are, are larger than Clan Buu.

Yes it is true. ConFed has more members. Maybe I am missing something in their recruiting technique or possibly people are attracted to their military style ranking. This I do know:
Their hierarchy is rude, anal, and just plain unpleasant. Their members come and go just as does ours. Their members are also mostly rude, unavailable, or unhelpful. ConFed attracts more recruits than we do. We need to provide some way of appealing to the new gamers, and rewarding the old. Strength is members. I think we should stick to the forum the way it was originally written. Instead of free access as a recruiting and structure filling device, it should be a reward for those who put the effort in.
People always come in wanting to rename or change the branches... almost all of them want to be called the elite of Buu... Well I say make them earn it, not just by game skill, but by fulfilling the requirements of the clan. Any true clan member should want to see the clan grow in all aspects, not just his/her own personal elite squad.
Just a makes sense approach which I realize most will scoff, but then again, I am no longer 12 and think I can run the world on a whim.

The crazy thing about Buu also is that the rank structure constantly dies and gets reborn. Starcraft as a game is slowly whithering, but Op XBuuX will always be alive as long as op channels exist.
Even though I haven't been active enough to respond to all these posts, I do host the op channel and the 4 greet bots 24/7. The main problem is that a huge member base eventually reaches a critical peak whereby it sustains itself. Unfortunately with Buu, everytime we got near that critical peak, something happened which made it all collapse. Last time it was me getting banned for 3 weeks by battle.net. People just didn't seem to realize that just because i wasn't around for a little while, didn't mean I wasn't coming back.

While I'm on I figure I should throw in my 2 cents. While we are and always will be the best clan to join out there we have problems.
1. Noone knows it. 2. Our chain of command is messed up.
We tend to only have about 5 or 6 truly dependable people in the chain of command at a time. We never get organized enough to grow again. And we let the fall of a valuable member here and there break our legs. Half the time we don't learn from our mistakes.
Also by the way I think that we are the most unique clan out there but most of the stuff I could say about that is !!!"CLASSIFIED"!!!

Heh yeah...if these forums are ever revived, it'll be the "classified" stuff that kept it alive.

I joined in Jan 08, finished my 100 games with [Bgg] on 1/25 , still havent seen anyone in the channel who would return a hail. Not sure what to do next? I am supose to join a div. I think, but I have to talk to someone to do that. I guess Ill just hang in the channel till SC2 comes out Oct/ March09 and see if the clan revives itself.

BGG and the Corporate Military were the two primary branches for the average gamer. However, both branches, along with most of the clan, are currently is a form of "stasis."
The best thing for you to do is to work on recruiting and help us get people orientated with the website forums again. This clan is old, but if you give her the right amount of go-juice, she's still in her prime. Thank you for your above-average concern with Clan Buu.
