Not all music is trendy.
Some music sucks and people that listen to it have to beat it with a baseball bat or commit suicide.
It's true.
Then again, maybe that isn't music.
But in any case, as I am learning from the stock market.
TRENDS ARE YOUR FRIENDS.
Love them. They can make you money!
But yeah, I do love trendy music. Just not the BAD trends. But it's the ska that counts.

i dont even think i would count ska under trendy anymore, it was trendy like a while back, but now, more people are into the pop, rap and emo genres of music.... although i like ska, so dont start yelling at me people, i am not saying its bad, just not really trendy.....
see i see trendy music as the shit my sisters listen too, because its mainstream (like, jessica simpson and beyonce) i guess it depends on how you view the definition of a trend

nice use of a crapy ska bands song.. but yoiu should tell people the song title and band . (lets give bands a nod)
but all mainstreem music is crap, to get a song on the radio you have to start sing in the first 15 seconds and have the main theme play by the first 7. oh and it has to about two and a half minuets long, no more then three. and no instermentals..
filpino box spring hog is a tom waits song. and the one that Buu quotes is sell out by reel big fish.

The stupid board logged me out.
The title was meant to be ska, but it came out os the name of the guest.
Trendy music is trendy because it is forcibly made to appeal to the most amount of people possible.

true, but that isnt what music should be about... music should be about emotoins and interpritation and such things not selling the most albums or appealing to the most people, i know a lot of musicians who like it when people enjoy their music, but really could care less if they love it, because most times, music is made for the musician

that is the way it should be, but music is a buesness that is why you should not buy cds. so it does not continue that cycle created by record companes. www.say-no.se/

...
I hate people who are anti-business.
Everyone goes through that phase, then you realize there is no point to it and give it up.
Buying cds doesn't affect anything but pissing off record companies more. Bands don't make their money from cd sales antwats.

if you would like to know if you get enough people to do something it will change. it is poeple that say shit, are the reason why there is so much cray out there. if most musicans i know dont like major record comeoany and are apaled at there practics of makeing lots of money while they ony ge peanuts. and thre is a poiont most big conglomerits dont pay a living wage to therere workes. most people in this counry are one paycheck for poverty. so you say there is not point, but what about pro worker.

I am completely with MOD on this issue. I have already stated time and time again, that I no longer suport the big music industry, and I get all of my music for free.
Recently I was given a 20 dollar gift certificate for ITUNES, so I downloaded two cd's worth of music. They came to me in MP4 format, that none of my music players except for ITUNES could actually play. Then, to make matters worse, when I tried to use the mp4 --> mp3 converter that ITUNES comes with, it said that because I downloaded the music from ITUNES they were protected, and could not be fixed.
What the fuck is this? Some sort of ridiculously retarded copyright protection? It pissed the fuck out of me for about 5 minutes. Fortunately I found a way around it. All you have to do is burn the music onto a CD, then use an audio Ripper program to RIP the music right off of the cd and onto your harddrive, the program gets around the copyright protection, and lets you have an original mp3 copy of what used to be mp4 and unchangeable.
So you see... even the DIGITAL music world, supports CD's! Without it, it would have been impossible to convert MY OWN MUSIC into the format I WANTED.
So they sell cd's even if you dont' BUY a cd!
That's why music is fucked up.
