No, nothing ever touches... easy one... belongs in metaphysics hehehe... same principle as how you can never reach the speed of light... which is... the closer you get... the harder it gets to get closer... applies even when splitting atoms... but then you realize... all matter is just really slow moving energy... by definition (e=mc2)... so really we are talking about fields interacting with each other... sure they can overlap... but there is nothing there to actually touch even if it were somehow possible... just a pressure or vacuum of whatever type of field it is... basicly im saying you dont exist and are just some random fractal of an infinatly large or small (depending on prespective) ball of spining energy... i advise you not to think about this at all... just hit the back button and forget you ever read it... its not healthy to know certain things...

but it one exists because we are looking at it. photos move in stright lines .. but the also move in waves. so it depends on the instrament used and where it is in time. also things can be in many places at one and nowhere all at the same time..

photos the particals that make up light move in stright lines. but light traves in waves, ie. the light spectrum rainbows and shit. so how can some thing that only move in stright lines move in waves.. electrons and netrons and protons are known to come in and out of exsistence. it gettes really mess at this point so if you want to know more, you should read up on quantom physics. but if that is to tough you should watch the movie "what the @$#% do we know".

Everyone's making very good points, but don't you think that we should begin to take up the discussion on the emptiness of reality and the underlying oddness of light's particle and wave properties in the PHYSICS section?
If anyone begins a discussion about that there, I'll interject with a brief discourse on the nature of light.
:-D

MOD, you had a cool topic, but nothing you said made any sense, except: "if you want to know more, you should read up on quantom physics." Which is something you should do before you say things like: "how can some thing that only move in stright lines move in waves" It shows you have not passed high school physics in the public schools you claim to be a product of. Stop claiming to be a molecular physicist and accept that your outclassed. You could ask another question, you were good at that. But dont try to amaze us with your version of Heisenberg's theories on quantum mechanics.
